The Tree Within
I'm Idun. I'm from Sweden. I'm obviously a Goddess. Left-wing, feminist, pessimist, bookworm. I like the forest, literature and tea. To make things even more cliché I have a cat and is a hermit.

This blog has no particular alignment, I just post whatever I like. That happens to be politics, society, music, pretty things and important things.
I like text posts so you've come to the wrong place if you don't like words.

Wayne Allyn Root - seriously, look his face in the last gif.

Ignorant white people man.
If they dont want black people stopping them every time they go for a stroll, they should understand racial profiling. Its useless. With out the cops messing with people, they would be bored and we all know boredom is when evil creeps up on people.

I hope I get to see this man killed in my lifetime <3<3

Khaled Hosseini first took us on a tumultuous journey to 1970s Afghanistan in the 2003 best-seller The Kite Runner, and followed it up in 2007 with A Thousand Splendid Suns, a novel about two women in Hosseini’s homeland. On May 21, his third novel, And the Mountains Echoed, hits store shelves. Unlike his previous works, it jumps across continents, weaving together a tale about love and loss across generations. Here, the author talks about his newest title, his view on writing, and his hopes for Afghanistan with Wajahat Ali, a writer and attorney.

Next time you decide to post about the Husby riots. Please check your privilege. Its probably easy for you to criticize, you are employed, you have your family to fall back on, a future. You have never had to defend or stand up for or reject another person’s actions because of your mutual hair colour or the mutual colour of your skin. You have never had to think about your ethnicity - or even that you have an ethnicity. You are not neglected by society. You will never have to walk in someone else’s shoes.

amodernmanifesto:

Rioters have lit fires and stoned emergency services in the suburbs of Stockholm for the third night in a row after a man was shot dead by police.

Incidents were reported in at least nine suburbs of the Swedish capital and police made eight arrests.

On Sunday night, more than 100 cars were set alight, Swedish media report.

Police in the deprived, largely immigrant suburb of Husby shot a man dead last week after he reportedly threatened to kill them with a machete.

The founder of a local youth group told Swedish media the riots were a reaction to “police brutality”.

Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt told reporters on Tuesday that Sweden would not be intimidated by rioters.

"Shortly thereafter, in the 1920s, fashion-designer Coco Chanel accidentally got sunburnt while visiting the French Riviera. When she arrived home, she arrived with a suntan and her fans apparently liked the look and started to adopt darker skin tones themselves. Tanned skin became a trend partly because of Coco’s status and the longing for her lifestyle by other members of society. In addition, Parisians fell in love with Josephine Baker, a “caramel-skinned” singer in Paris, and idolised her dark skin"

I wanted to look up where the origins of tanning for beauty come from

and, surprise, it’s stems from idolizing a Nazi sympathizer and fetishsizing a black woman.

So let’s be clear: Tanning is a WEALTH STATUS SYMBOL for white women.

While skin bleaching is done specifically to lighten the dark skin, which in turn is a SURE FIRE SOCIAL MOBILITY APPARATUS since LIGHT SKINNED POC GET TREATED BETTER INTERNATIONALLY.

White feminists can kiss my brown ass if they think that these two things are the same on ANY level.
